If you haven't been following the blogs, Brandy has had a really hard couple months. House fire, living in a hotel and tires blowing up on holidays to just name a few! She needs our prayers and support. Take a look at the email she has sent out. If you have extra coupons, it would be great if you helped her out. She helps many save money and time through her site.

Hi Everyone,

As everyone is probably well aware of my situation in the past three weeks, in dealing with a house fire, that pretty much destroyed everything, and then a flood from all the rain, anything we thought may have been saved was ruined in the flooding. I have taken the advice from several people and went and got myself a PO Box.

I am in need of some coupons, as mine were all destroyed. I was hoping that you might be able to call out to your readers, and those who can send me their unwanted or unneeded coupons. Particularly we are in need of cleaning items, health & beauty, Pet Food, and canned items. We have also rented off site storage to begin to build up some items as we are not able to store anything in our home until the clean up is finished, and let me just say this is an EXTREMELY slow process. We got no where pretty fast last week with the cleaning company. Seems our fire was not as top priority as the people with floods, so we have been patiently waiting for the cleaners to come back, all the while as the smell seeps deeper into the house.

It was devastating to have to throw out our huge stock pile of items, and now have to work to rebuild that stockpile is just plain exhausting. You don’t realize until you actually see it with your own eyes, just how bad smoke damage can be. The smell does not come out of plastic material, and how it creeps into cracks. I had items that were in plastic totes that were closed, and the smoke and soot actually got inside the totes. Even the Ziplock baggies that were not even opened had to be thrown out because of the smell that attached to them.

Trying to explain to our daughters that their DVD’s, stuffed animals, Littlest Pets, and everything else they owned all had to be thrown out was devastating to me. I think I cried more than they did.

As far as the pet food, Our dogs can only eat Purina Brand dog food, seems that’s the only brand that they are not sensitive to. The cat eats just about any food, she’s not picky.

The fire has taught us all to be a lot more thankful for the little things, and to not be so focused on items, but the time spent with each other, because we could have lost a lot more than just personal belongings, but thankfully we didn’t.

I would greatly appreciate all the help we could get. Thanks everyone.

Brandy
